Hygiene on Open Farms

HOOFThe Health and Safety Executive in Wales has produced a pack for teachers called Hygiene on Open Farms, or HOOF. It contains resources on hand washing and infection.

Learning along the food chain

Learning along the food chain DVDHealthy eating and sustainability are essential lessons for children, and looking at the food chain is a great way to combine the two. A new 7-minute DVD for teachers which shows children visiting farms, gardening in school, cooking, visiting a farmers' market and enjoying a local food school meal, is now available from FACE. It includes an appearance by education minister Jane Hutt AM, speaking at the recent Appetite for Life conference on school meals.

Find a FarmFACE can help you find a farm that is open to school visits in Wales. We have a database of over 70 farms around Wales, and the CAFÉ Project and Learning on the Farm can also help you if your school is in Powys or west Wales.
